David Murray Jr. won for the third straight race, and for the eighth time in 11 Blood, Sweat and Tears Series outings Sunday night at Dawson County Raceway. Ronnie Wallace did his best to keep Murray in check in the early stages and Chad Dolan made a run for the front in the late going, but neither could deny Murray another checkered flag.
Wallace was stretching out his lead before a lap six caution; Vince Leibert shot underneath following the re-start and set a fast pace of his own before the next yellow. Murray was inside row three when the green flag came out again and quickly found his way to the front.
Leibert was sidelined in a three-car melee five laps later. Dolan would draw even with Murray but couldn’t complete the pass. Following another multi-car tangle, on the 23rd circuit, Murray stuck to his groove and held off Dolan and seventh row starting Cliff Lawson for the victory.
The Koch brothers celebrated a pair of wins, with Brady topping the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and Aaron taking the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main.
